Work Environment

Managing disability presents individual cases that can be complex; therefore a one-size-fits-all approach to reasonable adjustment is not appropriate.

Changes to the work environment can be of significant benefit to staff and is regularly overcome through flexibility of working practices rather than provision of equipment. Changes to the work environment can be wide ranging, from lighting through to computer settings, and require ongoing discussions with the individual concerned.

Most employers do not have internal disability specialists to assess the work environment and outsource this process to a specialist. This is usually completed through 2 pathways
